The agreement between you and Lonesyte for using the platform as an organization, individual or contributor.

This wording is provided for transparency and remains subject to final legal review. Where it differs from rights you have under applicable law, the law prevails.
These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of Lonesyte, a marketplace that connects organizations and individuals with contributors for opportunities, research, local support and related work. By creating an account you agree to these Terms.
1.Accounts
- You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
- You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your credentials secure.
- Organization accounts must be created by a person authorized to act for that organization.
- We may suspend or close accounts that breach these Terms or our Community Standards.
2.How the marketplace works
Work on Lonesyte follows one sequence: Opportunity, then Application or Invitation, then Offer, Accepted Offer, Contract, Work, Payment and Review.
- Applying to an opportunity or accepting an invitation does not create a contract and does not guarantee selection, work or payment.
- A contract exists only once an offer has been explicitly accepted. The accepted terms are recorded and are not changed afterwards except through a contract amendment both parties agree to.
- Lonesyte is not a party to contracts between hiring parties and contributors.
3.Listings and content
- Anything you publish must be accurate, lawful, non-discriminatory and yours to publish.
- You keep ownership of your content and grant Lonesyte the licence needed to host and display it to operate the platform.
- We may remove content that breaches these Terms or the Community Standards.
4.Payments and fees
- Fees, processing costs and taxes are shown before you pay.
- Payments are processed by third-party providers (currently Stripe and PayPal) and are subject to their terms.
- Payout timing depends on approval, payment clearance, verification, disputes and provider requirements. We do not promise payout dates we cannot control.
- Lonesyte does not describe funds as escrowed, insured or guaranteed unless the underlying provider supports that statement.
5.Verification
Verification badges show that a specific check was completed. They are a trust signal, not a guarantee of performance, conduct, safety, quality, payment or future behaviour.
6.Prohibited conduct
- Harassment, discrimination, fraud or unsafe behaviour.
- Moving payment for platform work off Lonesyte to avoid fees or protections.
- Misrepresenting identity, qualifications or an organization.
- Interfering with the platform, other users or their data.
7.Termination
You may close your account at any time from Settings. Obligations under contracts already in progress, and records we must keep by law, survive closure.
8.Disclaimers and liability
The platform is provided as is. To the extent permitted by law, Lonesyte is not liable for the acts of users or for indirect losses. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under law that cannot be limited.
9.Changes to these Terms
When we change these Terms we publish a new version with its own effective date. We keep a record of the version each user accepted, and we will ask you to accept material changes.
